STAGE 3
After exploring the virtual tour and 360 photos, I refer to the Google map for a better demonstration. For instance, stabilize the camera at 4 to 6 ft, step out of the way before taking photos, and make sure to follow natural paths and walkways. I wish my virtual tour can manipulate similarly to Google Maps Street View. However, when I compare panorama and Google Maps' functions, there has a big difference. Google Maps has limitations on putting a hotspot and embed field sound. Thus, I consider another way for a solution.
Third Meeting with the advisor - Adam Tam 3/12/2020
In the first part, I show some prototypes and exhibition settings.
In the second part, I think about how the virtual tour would be. The images show a location that expands a sense of space, impression of depth, and one-person perspective. Also, ambiance sound and information are supplied. I expect to use RICOH THETA 360 camera, ZOOM H3-VR Handy Recorder, and Story Sphere in the procedure. Before the shooting day, I should be familiar with the operation, comprehend post-production, and calm down when faced with trouble. Also, I absorb experience from the boom operator, keeping a clear mind and formatting all the steps. The artwork arouses a deeper understanding of the community, showing citizens' livelihood, raising awareness of things that surrounded, and enhancing the knowledge of Hong Kong for non-local.
SUMMARY
Advisor comments that the Google Maps Street View is developed mature, it may not be suitable to present my work. I am better at using the RICOH THETA application and App to process the editing and post-production. Regarding the content, checkpoints can lead audiences to go through the tour. For example, there have checkpoints A, B, C, and D. Audiences should finish the virtual tour by visiting every checkpoint. Moreover, the audio can separate into the main soundtrack and independent soundtrack. The main soundtrack is assigned as background audio. Once the audience approaches one of the checkpoints, the independent soundtrack volume will be amplified.
